Climate change is one of the most complex issues facing us today globally. It threatens our national security – sovereignty, health, economy, and further development. We can stand up to the challenge by empowering world governments to work together on developing clean energy policies. Governments need to take a role in the fight against carbon pollution and actively contribute to the development of clean energy economies which should create millions of good-paying jobs.
Dino believes that we have to:
- Recognize and accept the relationship between economic stability and environmental sustainability.
- Bring policies that implement structural changes to political and financial systems in order to alter the trajectory of our environment.
- Educate and inform society about the consequences of climate change through the education system – schools and universities, media and other public platforms.
- Invest in clean energy infrastructure, innovation, and workforce development to make every economy more competitive, while creating more jobs on the national level, as well as throughout the European Union and worldwide.
- Defend and implement smart pollution and efficiency standards in public policies.
- Cut carbon pollution emissions from our transportation system by building out high-speed passenger rail, electric vehicles, and public transit.
- Ensure the safe and environmentally responsible energy production in the future, especially fossil fuel production.
- End exports of coal, natural gas, and crude oil.
- Promote and work on communication among nations and collaborative stewardship.
