Education is the single most important investment a nation can make in its future and a family can make in its children. Nothing brings more revenue to our country than investments in education, whether it is early childhood education, kindergarten to high school, higher education,post-graduate or lifetime learning. Education systems are often under pressure of partisan politics – scoring political points, experimenting programs encouraged by privileged minorities supported by government or corporate money, and build on the negative selection of its officials through corruption, on giving preferential treatments, and using education institutions for influence on social processes.
Dino always says that we are much more than what our opportunities allow us to be. Every person, no matter his or her background, should be guaranteed a high-quality education so that they can fulfill their potential regardless of their economic or social status. That’s why Dino will continue to advocate for:
- Early education. Those programs have proven to be one of the most valuable investments in youth’s future, evidently increasing their ability to succeed later in school and in life.
- Expanding and improving early learning opportunities in every region of our country.
- Supporting affordable childcare.
- Rebuilding the nation’s schools. In cities and rural communities across our country, there are public facilities, schools that are falling apart – schools where students are learning in classrooms without heating and water, without adequate tools for computer science and technology, with rodents and mold. For Dino, it is unacceptable, and it has to change.
- Investing in STEM – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
- Ensuring high-standards and goals to ensure students graduate from school and college career ready.
- Supporting a professional environment for teachers and school leaders through modern, locally-driven evaluation systems.
- Providing additional resources and improving access to those resources to support much-needed school initiatives through economically difficult times.
Our nation’s colleges and universities are the centers of groundbreaking research, innovation, and opportunity that give nation’s students an opportunity to achieve their goals. Unfortunately, for too long, our government officials, especially from the Ministry of Education and Science, have been doing a horrible job by not investing in the further development of our universities, modernizing school programs, reducing the number of courses, and allowing with that strategy young students to invest themselves more in the field they are most interested in. And most importantly, the negative selection of unprofessional, corrupted and not competent teachers has been one of the greatest problems in successful reform of our educational systems, bringing him on the level of Europan Union, but also the world. Dino will
- Launching a national campaign to modernize and elevate the profession of teaching.
- Supporting teachers in their further education and skills development.
- Helping students afford higher education by increasing free tuition fee percentage to eligible families and students.
- Help students find a good deal by creating a national website to compare costs, graduation rates, and popular majors.
- Requiring schools to have online information about the costs of education at their programs, so students and families could estimate their cost based on their financial situation and prepare their financial plan.
- Evaluating universities – both schools and teachers – performances after every academic year, and getting data about the fields which need more investment, development, and regulation.
