Unfortunately, we are still facing the fact that women’s rights and freedoms are still unfinished business of the 21st century. Even though we have come so far with the help of brave women around the world – activists, volunteers, advocates, public figures and members of feminist movements – there is still much work in front of us. Even today, we can see that millions of women around the world don’t have the same opportunity to enter the workforce, to make their own health and life decisions, that they are not allowed to go to school, choose their own life partner or to equally participate in the social, economic and political life of the country.
Since he was a child, Dino was surrounded with strong, kind, open-minded and brave women – his mother and his grandmothers – his personal heroes. They taught him that every person, regardless of gender, should have the same chance and opportunity to fulfill his or her potential and to be respected in every way. These three extraordinary women inspired him to become a persistent advocate, activist, and fighter for young girls and women across the country and the world.
Through his work and career, Dino will continue to:
- Promote women’s rights and gender equality on the national and global level.
- Promote pay transparency across the economy so that we can be sure that women are paid as men for the same job.
- Fight for women’s health and reproductive rights. Although abortion is a controversial topic in many countries, Dino strongly believes that the woman’s decision to go through with abortion should be made only by her and her closest family members, with the counsel and support of her doctor.
- Fight back against the radical far-right wing that is trying to intervene in the personal and intimate life of women and forbid them to make their own health decisions.
- Proudly stand with organizations that are providing safe, professional and supportive health and reproductive care for women.
- Fight for affordable contraception, safe and legal abortion.
- Confront violence against women in every aspect of life.
- Raise awareness of domestic violence and promote more strict sentences for the abuser.
- Work on increasing the minimum wage and closing the pay gap.
